Severance's strange computers and claustrophobic hallways

Severance's strange computers and claustrophobic hallways The computers in Lumon's vast underground office, the megacorporation at the heart of Apple TV Plus' thriller Severance, are downright bizarre. They appear to be an old Mac at first glance, but the closer you look, the stranger they become. The CRT display functions as a touchscreen in some ways. The gorgeous blue keyboard is accompanied by a massive trackball. The goal, according to production designer Jeremy Hindle, was to create a device that doesn't make much sense, mirroring the purgatory-like world that exists only within Lumon's basement. "The idea was that anything you could see underground didn't exist anywhere up top," Hindle explains. "You'll never see that computer or keyboard again." This article contains minor Severance spoilers.  Severance is set in a world where a new procedure — the titular severance — allows workers to split their lives in half after undergoing mi...

The Sixers admit that the officiating in Game 4 against the Raptors bothered them.

TORONTO–The Philadelphia 76ers had a chance to sweep the Toronto Raptors and advance to Round 2 on Saturday, but they were unable to find a rhythm and were defeated 110-102 in Toronto. In Game 5, the series will return to Philadelphia. The Sixers lost their cool a little bit because they were upset with how the game was called. Philadelphia attempted 25 free throws to the Raptors' 35, and the Sixers were called for six more fouls. Coach Doc Rivers believed that his team would be unable to overcome the officiating in this game because they had allowed them to get inside their heads. Georges Niang fouled out after 22 minutes, Joel Embiid fouled out four times, and Tobias Harris fouled out five times. "Give them credit, they played hard and physical," Rivers said. "I thought we complained a little too much tonight" (Saturday). We just have to go play." Embiid was also called for a technical foul, as was Toronto's OG Anunoby, who got into a shoving match wi...
